Children grow in a systematic manner with specific faculties developing as they pass through the initial years of their lives. A guided playtime ensures that they have the best support for enhancement of overall personality. It is important to encourage children to explore their capabilities; while still remembering not to expect too much from them since it can lead to feelings of inferiority, disappointment and failure.

Children learn to play in three ways – through exploration, through relation and through symbolism. The stages of development begin with playing alone. Playing in groups develops qualities such as sharing, competitive spirit and acceptance of failure once in a while. Parents should observe the child’s reactions to different playtime situations and correct them whenever necessary.

Enhancing Pre-schooler’s Skill Set At Home

As a parent and caretaker, we all know that a kindergartener has lots to learn not just at school, but, at home as well. It is therefore, important for us to participate in this learning process by getting involved in  the day to day activities of our child; in order to enhance the skill set and set a strong foundation for future.

Didyou know, that by just devoting 60 minutes to your child everyday  you can make a meaningful difference?  Did you know that some little steps taken by you can go a long way in forming a strong base for your child’s future skills? All parents must understand that teaching a child does not necessarily mean lecturing the child. Indulging and getting involved in the daily activities of our children is the best way to teach little ones.

I say this from personal experience. Getting involved with my child during his playtime made me realize how much we can contribute to our child’s learning and general knowledge by just making sure the playtime is spent under our guidance and supervision.
