Does our body really need health supplements like milk powders etc to add to our milk in order to derive the goodness of calcium and absorb it better as shown in most ads? Please explain.

vitamin -D is required by the body to absorb calcium from dietary sources to support strong bones and teeth . sources of vitamin - D are eggs, fish ,milk products , cod liver oil etc but main source of vitamin-D is sunlight. so for better absorption of calcium vitamin-D is required which can be obtained by above mentioned sources so just only for better absorption of calcium milk modifiers may not be necessary but milk enhancers maybe required for extra nutrition for healthy growth and development. some milk enhancers provide balanced nutrition for physical and mental development and also improve immunity. so these powders can be added to the milk on recommendation of pediatricians and / or dietitians . if the child eats well from all the food groups , achieving milestones, active , concentrates well and doesnot fall sick very oftenly then he/she may not require any supplements but if the child doesnot eat well these powders may be necessary so let the doctor evaluate the situation.
